journalism

Please read this letter to the editor by one of my favorite authors, Orson Scott Card.

Editor's note: Orson Scott Card is a Democrat and a newspaper columnist, and in this opinion piece he takes on both while lamenting the current state of journalism.

A journalist, standing up for the truth?  Could it be?  Thank you, Mr. Card.  Thank you.  Amen and thank you.

First...thanks for the little encouragement on my new blog.

I read that first on Salim Furth's blog -- I suspect that Snyper got it from Salim. I was skeptical when I first read it because although it is nice hearing a Democrat saying the Republicans didn't cause this, I actually feel that it is BOTH sides that are responsible. The cause that OSC presents is really only one of the many causes of today's crisis. As a matter of fact, factcheck.org's article here:
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/700_billion_blame_game.html

Pretty much agrees with almost everything I've discovered in my research. I do have some further thought on that topic too beyond what is on factcheck.org. You simply cannot pin the blame on any specific group of people.

That and OSC doesn't seem to be a typical sort of Democrat.
