2 Corinthians 1:8-9

It is very good to be in a place that requires complete dependence on God.  When my own faculties are overwhelmed I can cling only to the hope I have in Christ, only to his death and resurrection, only to the Father who is strong in my weakness, who binds up the broken-hearted, who defends the powerless, who loves.
O is it ever hard! but it is good to depend on God. Would that he did not have to force me.

We were under great pressure, far beyond out ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.
